Dogs Fire Kanon At Traktor: (new 9/30/08)
The Bulldogs Dave Kanon had a hat trick and added two assists
for a 5 point game as the Dogs extended their winning streak to
4 games in a 6-3 win over Traktor. After playing an almost scoreless
first period Dave scored the first of his 3 at 12:23 for a 1-0
Dogs lead that was not for long. Traktor scored at 13:55 to tie
things up at 1 after 1. Kanon notched his second of the game at
9:20 followed by Mac at 9:51 and Jamie Cassel with the eventual
game winner at 12:330 of the second for a 4-1 Dogs lead. Traktor
cut the deficit by two with 49 seconds left in the second period.
Traktor cut the lead to 1 early in the third and a tight one goal
game was played until Dave Kanon got his hat trick at 10:22 of
the 3rd for a 5-3 Dogs lead. Mitch Kemp added some insurance with
a short handed goal at 12:23 and the Dogs went on to a 6-3 win.
Up next for the Dogs after their by week... the
Usual Suspects who are currently winless and in last place in
the Easter League. A team not to take lightly as they have been
competitive thus far this season.
Dogs Get Two In A Row: (new 9/13/08)
Four players combined for goals as the Dogs extended their streak
to two games with a 4-2 win over Team Rahal. Taking a 1-0 lead
into the second period with a goal from Joe Lightfoot the Dogs
quickly made it 2-0 with a Larry Mac goal at 2:37. Rahal quickly
came back to cut the lead by 1 at 4:18 gone in the second but
40 seconds later Steve Yesconis scored the eventual game winner
and the Dogs led 3-1 into the 3rd. Team Rahal made it a one goal
game again with only 2:42 left in the game but Dave Kanon added
a goal (that was really scored by Joe Lightfoot) to put the game
away and the Dogs a 4-2 victory.
Next up for the Dogs is the Titans who were on
a bye-week last week. The undefeated Titans look to continue their
winning streak as well. The Dogs have not beaten the Titans in
their last 3 games being outscored 20-8 by the Titans.
Dogs Get Win #1: (new 9/6/08)
After a 4-2 loss in their opener the last things the Dogs needed
to do was fall behind the Storm Kings 2-0 early in the game. But
this is exactly what happened. With only 3:25 seconds into the
first the Storm Kings were up 2-0 and looking in control. But
the Dogs found whatever inspiration they needed getting a pair
of goals from Jamie Cassel and Steve Yesconis and solo shots from
Larry Mac and Scott Gingrich the Dogs fought for a come from behind
win over the Storm Kings. But the victory was not easy. 52 seconds
after the Dogs scored to make the lead 4-2 The SK's scored. 80
seconds after the Dogs made the score 5-3 the SK's scored. 82
seconds after the Dogs made the score 6-4 the SK's scored. But
the Dogs held on and got the win. Their first of the season.
Next up for the Dogs is Team Rahal (0-1-0) who
are coming off a bye-week. Rahal lost their opener 5-1 to the
Traktor.
Dogs Fall In Opener: (new 8/29/08)
It's a 20 game season is what the Dogs were thinking after a 4-2
loss to the Ice Raiders to open the 2008 Winter Season, plenty
of games to come. It hurts to open the season with a loss but
what a good game. The Dogs played well but could not figure out
the tough Ice Raiders. Forget all that the bottom line to this
game was the spirit and the humanity of the Ice Raiders Mike Klinger
and Chris Dove. with only 4:45 gone in the game the Bulldogs Jamie
Bashore hit the wall head first and was knocked out. Mike and
Chris responded when their EMT minds kicked in. It was quite a
kind act and something that the Dogs appreciated. After a 45 minute
delay, a short bench and losing Larry Mac in the second period
the Dogs could just not rebound. The game was suspended with 3:45
left because of the curfew clock and on the down side of a 4-2
score.
As for Jamie, there was no serious injury. He
is taking a few days off work and except for some soreness on
his left side he should be OK. Thanks again to the Ice Raiders
professionalism.
Up next for the Dogs is the Storm Kings who were
on a bye-week for week one. The SK's finished 10-9-1 in the Central
Division last season. It will be the first meeting ever between
the Dogs and the Kings.
